Anyone watch the PBS America channel? They're running a series of programmes like, 'make it safer', 'make it wilder', 'make it faster'. Was watching tonight when a muscle car lined up at the drag strip lights against an 80's Datsun. The Xmas tree lights dropped and the Datsun disappeared without a sound, running the quarter at a shade over 11 secs. 538.h.p. and...............1,200ft.lbs of torque??
The bloke who built it was inspired by the batteries used in the Apache helicopters, but didn't want any risk of explosion using the Lithium batteries, so made up a mix of Lithium and Magnesium. 12 batteries in the car, power equivalent to 50 Prius batteries? 0 - 60mph in........... 1.8secs.. :o 'Hey you in the Veyron, get outta my way'.. Some 'milk float'.. :y
Same programme. Made me think of the comments on here about download speeds. In Chicago they are getting......1,000Mbps. On fibre optic, by removing the copper cable running to your connection. Should be quick enough even for TB.. :y
