Irratic revving both high drops even when foots flat to floor
Power loss
High fuel consumption

I had this problem a long time ago and if I remember rightly it was a vacuum pipe down the bottom of the bagpipes.

2.2 doesn't have bag pipes like the V6 , still a possibility of an air leak though!

With engine idling, spray carb cleaner in the vicinity of all air/vac pipes and listen for any change in engine note. If you`ve an air leak the change in engine idle/rev will give an indication as to location of said leak

Finally found the culprit....dead maf
