my omega when code read  comes up with engine speed singal wat sensor would that be ?

runs different because car would be in limp home mode when sensor fails

The ECU uses signals from the crank sensor to decide where the crankshaft is and therefore when to inject fuel and when to spark.

If the timing is wrong then any engine will run badly (but usually the V6 just stops at random with a faulty crank sensor)
