I smoked my last "real" ciggie a week ago and switched to an electronic one. Started off with tobacco flavoured oils but now on the fruity ones, they just taste nicer. So far it seems to be working. I've went from 20+ a day to none. Cost me £30 for the cig and a couple of bottles of oil. So already I'm saving cash.
Anyone else on these or thinking of trying them? .

Well done cam, I know a lot of people who have tried to stop and most failed, Not as easy to give up as some people think
I only smoked in my youth and preferred the draw of a pint :) I have heard that that is hard to give up permanently but have no intention of finding out how hard ;D

I was worried about having a drink. But I was at a funeral the other day and the wake afterwards. Didn't feel the need for a real one at all. Felt a bit of a prat at first with the electric one, but soon realised there was quite a few people using them.

I wouldn't say they were common but I think it would be rare to find you were the only one using an electronic cigarette in a decent size group nowadays
Keep it up but be prepared for your lack of tobacco to be replaced by a desire to eat your weight in cakes, sweets etc ;D

Keep it up mate. It'll be a year tomorrow since I bought my first e-cig, haven't smoked a real one since.

I know that ecig liquids are reasonably cheap, compared to proper cigs, but users may be interested to know that they are primarily
glycerin (cough medicine) and propylene glycol (food preservative).
both these liquids are available via your local chemist at about £10 a litre (or ebay)
mixed between 50/50 and 70/30 (70% glycerin).
propylene gives the "throat hit", glycerine gives the sweetness.
ExMrsEgg smoked ridiculously weak cigs, and struggled to find eliquid she liked, so I spent quite a while researching it.
I bought a tobacco flavoured 24mg (strongest) and put the 10ml bottle in 500ml of 60/40 gly/PG.
She's still using the same bottle a month later, for the sake of about a fiver.
If you want to go "homebrew" nicotine and various flavours can be obtained off tinternet

What gives users the nicotine hit then? :-\

Nicotine dissolved into either PG or AG carrier.
You buy in a more concentrated form and dilute to give the strength you use along with the flavourings.
