Agreed. although I'm none too keen on the bumpers. :y

The way the two parts of the rear bumpers come together looks pretty shoddy to my eyes. :-\

I had the 4.2 version, 17mpg. The second most comfortable car I've had after Omega. Lovely looking car, and fun to drive. Stupid OHV clearance adjustment was done by changing shims which had the size etched carefully into the surface exactly where it was worn off by the cam! So every one had to be mic'ed when adjusting the clearances. :y

That'll be a North American car with those bumpers :-\ with the smog gear fitted, I very much doubt it will be any good at much more than gentle cruising...

Mine was doing a shade over 20MPG @ 120 MPH on the autobahn. Unless you're hoofing it between an endless stream of traffic lights about 200 yds apart is it even possible?

I was once towing my tintent from Neath to Merthyr Tydfil-there are some very long pulls up there. Was hoofing the Omega (3.0 auto estate) I think it was about 60mph but must have been in second gear-the OBC was showing 7mpg for quite a few miles.

Currently have a really nice 1978 4.2 Vanden Plas in at work in a goldish colour, has a very nice interior, the rear seats are separate and quite large and they don't feel at all like a car of its era when you drive them.
