Title: Float
Post by: Taxi_Driver on 16 February 2014, 18:25:02
Being a cabbie, I take a 'float' bag of change out with me....no idea how much is in it....but noticed it getting a bit heavy lately....so decided to sort it out...

Just shy of £90 in coins  :o

£55 of that (because of amounts you need to put in bank bags) is off to the bank tomorrow, the rest can stay in the 'float'

But i can see it now.....next week, everyone will give me notes....and the remaining £35 will disappear rapidly  ::) ;D

Brings back memories of nights out when I was young. I always paid with a note and the next morning I had a fortune in coins.

Mine isn't a million miles from that :-\ as well as the pound coins and shrapnel, I try to keep a few fivers and a ten to hand, as invariably the first fare after you have been to the bank will give you a £20 for a £3.80 fare ::)

When I first started, I encountered one chap, trying to show off to the girl he was with, who presented me with a fifty for a £4.20. First job of the night as well so didn't have £45 in change ::)

The girl ended up paying ;D

Impossible....we aint that cheap  ::) ;D

I refuse £50's unless the fare is at least £25 even if i do have enough notes to change it  ::)

You can usually tell, by the feel of the paper.......never used a pen and never had a note refused at the bank  :y

my wife takes all my loose change when I dump it out at night - ladies love bits of shrapnel which is why they take so long to pay for anything - getting rid of all the s**t

never been a problem for me.
Mrs(ex)Egg is/was incredibly jealous.
I certainly wasn't allowed to carry images of any other women -
such as pictures of the Queen

Its generally easy to tell, if you handle notes a lot.  Even I can still tell, and I haven't worked in retail for 25 years.
