I don't know if this is the right area to post this, but James came to me to replace my cambelt, thermostat and sundry other things and did a brilliant job!
Nothing was too much trouble and he worked with painstaking care in a completely professional manner, so if you ever want yours done, you know what to do.....

Being another Ron I thought I should say that James did my cam belt and thermostat . A perfect job done by the nicest person and travelled a long way to do the work.

Nice to hear you confirm my good experience, Ron. I forgot to mention in my original posting that the day was intermittently piddling down, yet James worked through it unfazed except for an enforced break during a deluge and as a result was still working at 9 PM - what a Trojan!
Even at that late hour he offered to do an overdue oil change for me, which I greatly appreciated - especially as he had some Trade Club oil with him, saving me precious pennies.
I asked James to do this work as a result of postings on here, and as I knew nothing about James, was naturally a little apprehensive, understandably.
If ANYONE is in the same frame of mind, may I just say do not hold back; I recommend James and his excellent work unreservedly.

I had my cambelt done by him after a so called expert got the timing wrong. What a jolly good feller :y

James has done my cambelt and waterpump today and as with SMD my timing was out, which he sorted. My Mpg has shot up as a result!!! :y
So I agree with everything said above!!! He's a bloody good bloke!!! :y :y :y

Living near to James has been a bonus, he has sorted several problems for me one of which was the poor performance of my LPG. Good man all round

I made my original post as a thank you to James for his excellent work and I'm gratified to see so many OOFers in agreement.
When my bank balance recovers (that's NOT because James robbed me but due to pension limitations!) I will need attention to my autobox, which continues to leak ATF and sundry minor issues like the power sounder and spark plug replacement.
Oh, and an impossible to remove CCR2006(?).
