Title: Idler Arm
Post by: Kate on 21 February 2014, 12:22:43
Hi all.

Been to see Serek to get my wheel bearing done and he did a brilliant job. (Thanks Serek):y

He said I also need an idler arm and my MOT is due on 16th March. I don't know much about this part. How much do new ones cost? Could I buy a used one? Is it a big job to replace?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :y

Thanks a lot.

Kate.

Easy job to do... Half hour max... Cost about £40 ish if memory serves me right... Bought mine from All German parts listed in the forum.. Don't buy second hand as could be worse than your own.

Thanks. Is it best to buy the original Lemforder part or will a cheap one off ebay do?

New and Lemforder for these,  cheapies have often been known to be worse than your old one!

Do not get a cheap one as it will be worse  than the one you have.   I can't comment on lemforder as I've never fitted one but they have good reviews on oof  so should be good.   I've fitted genuine  on mine  they're a bit more expensive but as least its going to be good.
