-
A week.
-
Come to think of it that's roughly what i have spent on mine this week ,but that does include the purchase price.

Perish the thought that a main dealers 'technician' would abuse a customers car tut tut tut ;D ;D ;D
No doubt thought it's just another S class :)
It could have been worse
It could have been an SLR

Bought new, the SL65 AMG would cost £170,000 - Mr Guest bought his car in 2010 for £40,000 and has spent £30,000 on maintaining it
OMG, you would have to be barking to pay that for a Stuttgart taxi!
You can get an Aston for less!
-
Gets better fuel than i can from my 3.2. He getting 24.4. I struggle to get 23. Time to get a bigger engine. ;D

3.2's really, really are shite on fuel given their size.
JoshW had a 4.2 V8 Jag XJ for a while, that did almost identical MPG to what I get from my 3.2.

Agreed. The owner paid only £40,000 for the car when It was 4 years old.
Don't you just love depreciation?.... :)

Too chav-tastic the VXR8 really, not very nice to look at either, inside or out.

The Monaro and VXR8 hold their value surprisingly well for a Vx product. Much better than my CLS.
-
Thats probably because the engine and gearbox from a Monaro can command prices around 5K on thier own.

Actually been meaning to ask you since we are close-ish neighbours now, do you still do Crayfish trapping? I intend to build a BBQ at some point, that and some beers in the summer would go down well :y

Same here, I am waiting for a gap in the weather to slap a few bricks down for a bbq. I did do any trapping last year, I was too busy. I may do some this year which reminds me I need to get my permit renewed :y
-
If you need another pair of hands, like to see this trapping being done :)
I've got a pile of about 100 bricks, be very interested to see what you are doing :y

Not too sure just yet, but something along the lines of this:

I think I have the metalwork for one of those languishing in the shed. Not going to get round to using it myself, so it's free to a good home - if it hasn't rotted away by now. ;D

As someone else mentioned, its partly because what they are worth in parts alone. Plus they where pretty cheap to begin with for what they are.Alot of car/engine for the money

Exactly what I thought, must have had a lot wrong with it, better off without it, my Mig has cost less than a thousand in all the time i've had it !!
how long have you had it?
2.6 CDX Bought December 2010, fully serviced inc cambelt, I have had 1 set of tyres , new front pads, 2 pairs of wipers all new filters recently & 1 headlight bulb & 5 oil & filter changes all bills add up to £ 874.83. Best buy I have ever had out of all the cars I've had have covered 35,000 miles since owning it & has never missed a beat.
-
Have you driven one Tunnie :-\
Nope but been in a Monaro and see plenty of VXR8s, if possble i would have a Monaro, but VXR8 is an ugly bugger really. Its got worse the newer they are
-
Monaro is a perfectly good car, but a bit plain, much like the Omega...
Nothing says 'Opps off, ya big Jessie' like a VXR8 or Camaro, and that is the appeal :y
Actually pretty accomplished on the road too. Not BMW or Jag refined, but very drivable nonetheless 8)
I certainly wouldn't kick a late VE 'R8 off the drive, especially a white or dark grey one...
-
Monaro has the fundamental flaw of 2 doors. Big doors. Hence, my preference would be a VXR8, but the later ones are a bit too chavtastic for me.

Says he with a chavtastic Omega ;D
Does depend on the colour too, dark grey looks good whereas yellow is a bit garish :y
