My lad phoned me earlier to say though he'd not been looking for one, he'd spotted a 14 plate car.
I always used to look out for new reg plates 1st Aug every year, but these days forget about the new plates coming out.
Anyone else seen a new car today .... or even remembered to look out for one? ??? :y :y :y

I saw one being driven on trade plates. The plate that was on the car was 'MY14REG', so obviously being delivered to a dealership.

Only remembered to start looking when I saw a 14 plated full fat Range Rover... shame it was white.

Seen plenty on the public roads last week :o
But a few dealers near work, the Audi one being huge and spread over several sites in this part of town. I guess they should have trade plates on, but never rarely do. One was a sporty A4, sounded V8, being ragged up the dual carriageway. Nice way to treat a customer's car >:(

Saw an x-drive 320 yesterday in sunny Perth while out for a stroll
Saw loads in the dealers earlier in the week
Did always look out for them in the August 1st days though

Exactly what is wrong with having a new registration every 1st January?
What could be more simple?
I believe that this sensible practice finished somewhere around 1967. :'(

Dealers have got it sussed, if you have a new car it will seem old in 6 months now !

Done because the "industry" complained that they had a massive peak in sales in December then nowt for the rest of the year. So the "new reg twice a year" was brought in to "spread" the sales more evenly.

Seen my first one yesterday as I drove it out the showroom :D

Don't think I ever look at car number plates unless it's needed. Couldn't care less what year it was made,it's just a number.
