Post by: kris9128 on 07 June 2008, 09:59:07
have just had an argument with my 3 yr old over a nursery rhyme. turns out the words have been changed to bah bah wooly sheep. apparently saying bah bah black sheep is deemed as offensive. what is wrong with this country.

Yeah - I heard this latest bit of "PC" cr*p too ......  I wonder, though, about poor old Noddy and Big Ears.  I seem to recall, a fair few years back, that he was banned because of his "relationship" with Big Ears --- surely he should be unbanned now --- isn't homophobia non PC ?

BTW -- never noticed blue leds on his little yellow car !!!!

Personally I think it causes more trouble with Racist problems than enough....

As for Ba Ba Black Sheep, I have a mate who is black and he takes no offence to it at all its a childrens rhyme.
All this "PC" stuff is making "A Thing" out of innocent everyday instances which leads to Racism in my opinion.  >:(

is this the way nursery rhymes will end up.
Jack & Jill

Two young persons of opposite gender, proceeded toward the apex of a natural geologic protuberance. The purpose of their expedition was to procure a sample of fluid hydride of oxygen in a large vessel, the exact size of which was omniously omitted from the record. As the male person precipitously descended, he consequently sustained severe damage to the upper cranial portion of his anatomy. A similar fate befell the female, who immediately after the male person, performed a self-rotational translation oriented in the same direction having been traversed by the young man.

Jack Spratt

Complications arose during a non-congressional investigation of dietary influence. One person of the male gender was unable to assimilate adipose tissue, and another person, of the female gender, was unable to consume tissue consisting chiefly of muscle fibre. A reciprocal arrangement between the two, who also happened to be a party of a domesticated alliance, allowed for the total consumption of the viands under consideration, which was unltimately achieved, thus, leaving the original container of the viands devoid of any contents.

Little Jack Horner

A young person of the male persuasion was situated near the intersection of two supporting elements at right angles to each other. Said person was involved in ingesting a saccharine composition prepared in conjunction with the ritual celebration of an annual religious event. Insertion into the saccharine composition of the opposable digit of his forelimb was followed by removal of a drop of genus Prunus. Immediately thereafter, this person made a declarative statement regarding the high quality of his character as a young male.

Mary Had A Little Lamb

A young person of the female gender was the possessor of a small immature ruminant of the species genus Ovis, whose outermost covering reflected all wavelengths of visible light with a luminosity equal to that of a mass of naturally occurring microscopically crystalline water. Regardless of the translational path chosen by the aforesaid young person, there was a 100% probability that the aforementioned ruminant would select the same pathway.

Old Mother Hubbard

A geriatric person of female gender proceeded to a storage compartment for the purpose of procuring a fragment of osseous tissue from an unidentified deceased specimen to transfer to an indigent carnivorous domesticated mammal, Canis familiaris, of the family Canidae. Upon arrival at her destination, she found the storage compartment in denuded condition, with the consequence that the indigent carnivore was deprived of the intended donation.

Three Blind Mice

A triumvirate of murine rodents totally devoid of ophthalmic acuity was observed in a state of rapid locomotion in pursuit of an agriculturalist's uxorial adjunct. The aforesaid adjunct then performed a triple caudectomy utilizing an acutely honed bladed instrument generally used for subdivision of edible tissue

Agatha Christie wrote a novel she called "Ten Little Niggers".  I read it in the 1950s.  Good book.

I later noticed that it had been renamed as "Ten Little Indians".  That took it through the 70s and 80s.

I have recently found out that it is now called "And then there were none".

Isn't it silly? :(

I once played the role of the butler in this play in france where it is still called "Les dix petits Négres" or the 10 little niggers.

Anyone who knows this play will know that the title refers to 10 little black statues which magically break when each of the characters die....

So the French who preach about Freedom, Equality and Fraturnity (which is what the 3 colours of the french flag stand for) dont have to change the bloody name, but we do...... bonkers!

Many years ago, I had a dear old friend whose black Labrador dog was called N*gg*r.....nobody ever took offence (least of all, his 'Black' friends)....I doubt, if he`d be able to shout it`s name in a public place without fear of arrest/assault these days. :(

an asylum seeker is someone who is in danger and needs to seek refuge in the NEAREST place of safety.so unless war has broken out in northern france or similar ,i cant see why this country should have asylum seekers.unless of course they are economic migrants masquerading as asylum seekers, but then those geniuses in westminster who we pay lots of money to run the country would have spotted that scam ,and put a stop to it sharpish, wouldnt they. ::)

All these people who dream up this PC cr*p; We're paying their, no doubt expensive, saleries. Can't we shoot them or something ?. Or give them a real job, send them over to Iraq with a rifle and canteen, you know something useful ?.

You know if you worked out the carbon foot print of all these civil servants, it would really save the planet if we got rid of the lot!  ;D ;D

When i worked for an NHS learning disability team we werent allowed to have brain storming sessions, we had to have brain showers! Brain storms are apparently offensive to people who have brain problems!

Rats - beat me to it >:(

But how come we're allowed to have the MOBO awards?  In case you don't know, that stands for "Music of Black Origin".

And last night there was a station plug on the Beeb for one of its digital radio channels which was talking about "Black Music".  Really don't understand. :-/

Has anyone got a smiley for "completely bewildered"?  I think I might make a lot of use of that...

During my lifetime we were supposed to refer to our darker skinned brethren as "dark skinned", then we were supposed to use "coloured", at one time it was OK to use "Black" --- what the hell are we supposed to use ?  And how come we are still allowed to be white !?

The real Question is "Are there any Black sheep or are they just Very OFF White" Please tell the PC people to P%&s off like I do  ;D ;D my 4 yr old sing the new version at Pre-school, but at home I teach him the right way with Black sheep, The last time I sore a black person, they had just been taken out from a house fire DEAD, so they was not complaining about their colour.

Any way,  what are most "white people" trying to do today in the sun trying to turn a nice shade of "BROWN"  ;D ;D (pot - Kettle)  ;D
