really does seem sus though, i thought they were only released on sale 1st December 1999, while prefacelift went to 2000W

I think my T plate Elite was registered on 29th July, for the sake of a few days it might have been a V plate.

V Plate Started 1st August 1999
http://www.ukcar.com/features/reg_year.htm
its wrong, when they introduced the twice yearly reg changes, new reg years started 1st March then 1st September, not august, they're suggesting that it was the new format (ie 51plate) that started september
-
It might have been a Vx pre realease car so they could have shown it to the press on used it for testing on main roads.

Bugga
That web site has it all wrong then.

the reg doesnt bring the car details up on insurance websites, tho i know that doesnt necessarily mean much, since my reg doesnt either!

Mines November 1999 on a V and facelift
-
Love the colour.

No T plates ran from Mar 99 to Aug 31st 99, so it is a T plate and not a V...... ;)
And if it's a face lift model then it would be a "Press Car" for the car mags to test drive.

I checked a few other other web sites after this one, and it is this web site that is wrong. The forum members are right. It is a T plate and is registered correctly according to the reg date given, now the face lift bit is annother thing.

I know the last mini facelifts were on a V plate. As said could be an early promotional model.
I can't think of any other reason. :)

Just trying to find more info on face lift dates.
Wikipedia info list this for the engine.
X25XE 2.5 L V6 with 167 BHP (replaced in 2000 by X26SE 2.6 L V6 with 176 BHP)
X30XE 3.0 L V6 with 207 BHP (replaced in 2001 with Y32SE 3.2 L V6 with 217 BHP)
So really the facelift drifted in in various levels and had 4 V6 options fitted in it's time.

Yup I've got a dec 99 facelift 2.5 on a V plate outside.
-
I used to own a 2000 W pre facelift

My Gold Elite was a 99 on a V but they held off regestering it until 2000, so i could believe that this would be right.
If i remember correctly PP is a luton reg identifyer so that could tie in with the 'promo car' theory, however when you see promo cars they are generally fully loaded and i would have expected to see leather and poss sat nav in there
