So my 2001 MV6 3.2 has developed a 0300 fault.
It rears it's head when the car is stationary and I slip it into reverse. Sometimes it's immediate, occasionally I have to wait up to 30+ seconds before is start running lumpy.
Yesterday it happened in Drive at some traffic lights and then the engine management light came on and I had to limp home. When I got home and switched the car off and on again, it was fine.
I took this off the engine today and it looks a bit buggered, but I have no idea what it is called:

Could this be the cause of all my woes? Or is it going to be more complicated that this?
Thanks in advance!

Yep! That coil pack is well past retirement age ;D :y
-
Thanks PhilRich :)
I guess the other side is probably past its best too but that one's a pain to remove. The car's done 105k.
Any idea of cost for two of these? ???
-
Search for the right ones for your car here. They sell genuine Bosch coil packs.

Iirc, there where miss fire problems before. ::)
-
There seems to be two, and the both supposedly fit. What's the difference between a 12804 and a 12805? Are they just left and right? ???
-
They are handed :y

Had the same problem with mine on the 1-3-5 bank. Genuine bosch replacement at competitive price here.

I am both baffled and amused by these two seemingly identical items with different colour plugs being priced differently to each other... ;D
-
Carparts4less are considerably more expensive than http://www.vauxhallworldparts.com/ for the same Bosch packs. :-\
-
If you stand in front of the car, which bank is on your left? Is it 1-3-5?
-
Looking into the engine bay, 135 on the left. :y
-
Cool. Thanks!
That's the one in the picture. You think I should try just replacing that one, or just do them both at once?
-
My 246 is at fault at the moment and I'm only going to change it.
Matter of choice. Do you intend to keep the car ? If you do and you can afford both, then maybe wise to do the 6 plugs, both packs and get the codes cleared while the plenum etc is off.
Hope you cure it ! :y

Other thing I have to consider too is where the water etc is getting in to kill the pack. A known good one only lasted a couple of weeks and she is chugging badly with 0300 and 0302 stored..... Again.
Need to get someone who knows their stuff to do the job for me and seal the wipers/scuttle etc. :(

Thanks for your help guys. :y
I've opted to buy both sides from VauxhallWorldParts, and they arrive Monday.
-
I've managed to get home with some sun remaining and fitted the 1-3-5 coil. Runs like a dream! :D
-
Good news :y
My 2 4 6 is due to arrive Tuesday. Hope I get a similar outcome !

Bugger. Got a misfire on Cylinder 6 too. So I've stripped the car apart to fit the 2-4-6 coil and found this: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=1A23888A15BCD454!551&authkey=!ACCgHlsm6KQUe48&v=3&ithint=photo,.jpg https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=1A23888A15BCD454!552&authkey=!AODBoEUIvoLTSdw&v=3&ithint=photo,.jpg
Yup. That's a bit screwed. ;D

Yup, that'd do it ;D
