Title: heated seat a bit too hot
Post by: anddyy88 on 09 March 2014, 16:53:49: should a heated seat be able to burn your ass off :o cause no matter what setting i put my seat on even on setting 1 (lowest?) it gets so hot you cant remain on the seat.

was a bad decision to try it for the first time on the motorway, job and half trying to drive without being on the seat ;D

Like a fag burn?

On cloth, yes, on leather its a distortion that shows first. Leather has the element built in, so when the cover is removed there is a fag burn mark inside.

Yup, if its just a relatively small area that's overheating, suspect the element in that area.

If whole seat too hot on a facelift, suspect thermostat

That would explain why I've got a fag burn on mine yet no on one has smoked in it. Is it a case of replacing the heat pad thing or something else?
