Post by: tigers_gonads on 11 March 2014, 19:39:16
.............. that's on the rear wheel arches is starting to bubble up underneath with rust  :(
Before I rip it off in the summer and attack the rust, can you buy the tape ?

This was brought up recently. I believe the answer is yes, but at a cost.

A small piece of black vinyl and some scissors. Try Ebay for 'dinoc vinyl' or similar stuff. Should cost about a fiver for more than enough to do a several cars. Or you could try a local signwriter, the amount you want wouldn't even count as an off-cut.

Some of this...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Non-Slip-Skid-Self-Adhesive-Deck-Tape-1-x24-White-/251129299732?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_BoatEquipment_Accessories_SM&hash=item3a78790314

Cut to size/shape should do the trick :y

That's going to be a bit rough :o
The trim only seems to be there to stop the door rubber marking the paint, so any smooth tape that will stick well will do the job. Signwriting vinyl would be ideal. And cheap.

The stone chip strip is a bit more robust than the clear one next to the wing :y

Fookin ell  :o :o :o
Stuff that  ;D ;D ;D
I'll use some clear sticky vinyl or something like what Al found  :D ;D

Slightly different but I started the topic so  :P ;D

My daft mutt is starting to scratch the top of the bumper when he jumps in and out of the boot.
On some estates, i've seen some ribbed rubber trim which is stuck along the top of the bumper.
Anybody seen anything that will look decent on a omega ?

Even more reason to buy a length of vinyl. The Dinoc I mentioned is high quality 3M stuff, as used for vehicle wrapping although it's original use was for architectural purposes. It's easy to apply, and with a bit of help from a heat gun, remove. Available in lots of different finishes, it's also pretty hard wearing.  For some time I've considered covering my bumper top with it, but other things keep getting more important.

A half metre length should give you more than enough to cover your bumper top a couple of times, and replace the trim strips. All for about a tenner. The clear stick-on covers you hear of for the front of expensive cars has got to be a very similar product.

That grip tape would work there as well, stops the paws from slipping around :y
