Just looking to know if anyone knows of any harder pistons for the x25xe engine? My mate is looking to turbo his v6 vectra but doesnt want to wreck the engine.
-
Not an engine that really suits turbocharging due to cooling issues on the rear 2 cylinders
-
Swindon race engines used to do them for their endurance-race engines, you could try there.
other than that, I've a hunch that the 2.5 is the same bore as teh 1.8 16v engine
-
.. and the X30XE is the same dimensions as the C20XE as well, I think. Plenty of forged bits available for that.. at a price!
Good luck. :y
-
you can use C20let forged pistons if you bore the x25xe to x30xe size .. but not sure he may be able to control the front of car if he really uses this forged setup :-\
-
looked thu google and there seems to be a few people thats ran a turbo off the standard internals. theirs one boy thats done a v6 turbo nova which looks pretty cool, he said he runs it at low boost. :P
-
a fwd heavy car over 200 hp (to say the least hp) wont be a winner in any case.. even with best possible tires and best possible front suspension , it wont have a traction until 4th if you hammer it.. :-\

Its well documented, but as a reminder, Courtenay Sport, when they were Courtenay Turbos, made a number of turbo charged 2.5V6 Omegas for the RUC in Ireland, they were only low blow and produced around 250bhp. Any more puff and they become unreliable
They also had upradted brakes and up until a couple of years ago they used to sell the 'special' grooved discs for around £300/ pair

the vectra is already pushing 220/230bhp, she has G cams, has been superchipped (so ive been told) and was tuned by MSD. Turbo tho would look well under the bonnet, especially for car shows, think thats what its mainly for.

That's pretty impressive if the rolling road was anywhere near accurate.
I've had a 2.5 Omega with the 3.0l (G) cams and a Superchips chip, and never in a month of Sundays was it anywhere near as quick as my (then) 166k 3.0l Omega.

I was driving a 3.0 when a Toyota Lexus 200 tried it on and floored it while I was overtaking.
No problem
