Finally got round to fixing the ABS ecu on my 3.0 Elite and now its back on, the speedo works, no abs lights on, but the brake pedal is still really numb - it takes a good shove to get them to work.
My question is when the ABS ecu has failed does it make the brakes poor?
When I bought this Omega I knew it needed the ABS ecu repaired, so its always had poor brakes, but I was expecting the brake efficiency to be back to normal now its been replaced.
I have another omega so I know how the brakes should feel, but this is far from it has a long brake pedal and you need to stand on the brakes to make them work.

Condition of pads & disc? A damned good bleeding, possibly via Tech 2 to work/modulate the ABS pump :-\

Abs only come into play when the wheels lock. poor brakes is another problem. Does the servo work?

I agree with tidla and would look at the brake circuit

Key things to check.
1) Air in the brake hydraulic circuits, worth a bleed of the system and fresh fluid.
2) Servo -check carefuly the vac connection adn the servo pipe (they can rub through near the rear right of the plenum on the aircon pipe if its been disturbed and the spacer not replaced)

thanks for suggestions it does feel like no servo will check this.
the abs will work but only on a wet road with full force on the brakes (ie more force you would normally apply for an emergency stop).
