Instead of what have you been doing today ;D
All of my 3.0 elites have had rear wheel arch rot p/f and rust bubbles coming through the front drivers door . Oh and the rear doors behind that rubber strip thingie ::)
But my 1997 MV 3.0 has no rust :y
-
none
-
Mine has a little rust at the front bottom of the rear wheel arch and a little bit on the rear nearside door were the seat belt has been trapped at some time, that's about it, although I haven't looked that hard :y
-
Don't like to look ;D
-
Ive still got a 5ltr can of waxoil thats bee in the shed 8 years that will be used on the inside of doors and wheel arches ::)
-
Mine has tinwork on O/S rear arch, just starting to go on the N/S rear arch too... Drivers door has a slight bubble about the size if a 5p coin....also on the C pillar underneath where the plastic finishing stip is located, at the moment it held on with what looks like double sided foam, so gonna need to remove that and replace with a freshly painted item...
Im waiting on the nice weather to get here for me to tackle it....
I also need to repace the fuel filler flap as that doesn't lock because of the 'keep' being broken...
-
Very little on my 53 plate MV6.
The wheel arches are perfect.
The main location for rust on mine is where you open the rear doors..... This can't be seen from the outside. :y

When I was but a 'nipper' our next door neighbour owned a 4 year old Austin 1100.
Both of the front wings and sills were already full of newspaper, wire mesh and Isopon. :-\ :-\
So much for "they don't make them like they used to"........Thank God. ;D ;D

The original Vauxhall Viva would slowly dissolve in the showroom as it waited for it's first owner. ;D ;D ;)

My 1990 Astra GTE in Essex White was showing rust at 2yrs old.
It took GM a long time to get on top of the rust problem. Far too long >:(
-
I have rear O/S wheel arch rust and it's creeping up to the filler cap. A tint spot on't boot lid and a tiny spot on the N/S rear door.
I'll get this sorted in the summer though :)
-
none.. :)
-
Only rust I have found on my 03 plate is behind the front wheels on the chassis legs ??? It's mostly surface and not holed anywhere but I'm told they all rust here ??? Oh and on the corner of the top front panel next to the battery (some tit put a huge battery on it that doesn't fit the tray correctly)

I didn't see any rust on my chassis legs when I replaced the crash bar.
another place I do have it though that's just reminded me is the panel behind the rear bumper on the drivers side...

...wondering if this should be repaired or can I get away with leaving it (bearing in mind I want to keep the car a bloody long time) :)

Get the grinder to it now :y as its behind the bumper there is no need to get a professional job done as it won't be seen :y just remove the rust then spry it with some grey shutz then if you want to get a can of colour to finish it properly :y Job done 8) BTW nothing on mine as far as I can see. But then again I need to take the bumper off to see this. ::)

I think it was called Glacier White, but at the time, everyone had an XR3i or GTE, and all were white. Essex White ;D

Bottom of driver's door, ns front door has a stone chip rust spot, ns rear near the wheel arch. Both wheel arches are okay, but I do pressure wash any dirt / mud from that area when cleaning the car. At some point I will inspect these more closely to see if they need derusting and repainting with underseal.
-
None that I can see
-
Offside rear wheel arch. :'(
-
Bottom of my '99 mv6 drivers door has a 3 inch x 2 inch strip . Looks bad actually but body shop guy says it's well within his ability to deal with. Nothing else at all on car :)
