Title: non starter
Post by: skyblue on 31 March 2014, 18:02:30
Help I'm at my wits end with this dam car. Last wk my car wounldn't start , so I had to call the AA out to it. they managed to get me going with a blast of easy start into the drivers side bagpipe and jumpstart. This kept me going for about 4/5 starts and then the  process would have to be redone. On the final call out to the AA the lad his own code reader P0043 , P0705 ,P0300 , P0302 ,P0304.

So far I have replaced the fuel pump and both relays and both sets of coil packs. and still the bloody thing wont start.

The other problem is I think the auto selector switch has a fault on it and needs cleaning but I don't have the confidence in my myself to do this job.

Any ideas on what I should be doing next to it ???

James,  You have a pm,also.

I have been thinking about the crank sensor  but I thought my problem wouldn't relate to a crank sensor as  it hasn't broken down while it has been moving. Its only when you switch off its a 50/50 chance or getting it restarted.

UPDATE, UPDATE... Don't worry, there wont be another one going to the big crusher in some scrapyard very soon  :D :D :D :D :D :D :D as after a small trip over to our friend in Heathrow, the  crank sensor he gave me did the trick and we are now back up and running. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I still need to do the auto selector switch, But As I have said , I have no confidence in my self in doing this myself , as I don't or cant grasp what needs to be done from the guide. So if anybody local wants to spoon feed me the info while they drink a nice cup of tea and get some beer tokens as well  , while I'm  getting dirty then please contact me and name ya price. :y I will also drive to you so if you want you cant stand there in ya slippers if ya want. ;) ;D ;D ;D
