Served the reckless careless git a lesson.... the white lines in the middle of the road are there for a reason....

Just thought they would probably throw it out due to proving he was the rider or something :(

It is. Car drivers. Not saying bikers are exempt, far from it, but they'll spend a fraction of the time on the wrong side of the road as a car would.
Unless the rider is an idiot that can't handle the bike of course.
-
Ha ha, what an idiot, pity he didn't hurt himself more.

Which is quite plainly the case in this example.
I know videos can be deceptive, but the only reason I can think of for the sudden understeer and subsequent failure to correct it is that he didn't have the gonads to go for the kneescraper (which was obviously required) to get him round the bend at the speed he was travelling at.
-
What a idiot.......
-
Not a particularly severe curve, in fact he appears to be through the corner and just needed to hold his line. Seems to be a classic case of target fixation.
Here's another example: http://youtu.be/dZ2M7cpLGC4 . First rider runs wide, probably due to focusing on the grass verge he wanted to avoid, and the second rider is focused on the incident and follows the first numpty rider.
If they'd all looked at where they wanted to be and not at what they wanted to avoid, they'd most likely have been fine.

You are actually allowed to cross double white lines even in a car, but .......... it's only to allow you to overtake very slow moving traffic eg a tractor
-
eg a tractor, gully cleaner with a blue circle and white arrow, or a pushbike (all travelling at less than 15mph)
We ain't supposed to cross em, even on a blue light run!

.......
I was reminded of this rule (that's apparently changed back & forth over the years) a few years back when I was being made aware of my speed on a course! ::) ::)
-
Define crossing.
Touching the white line. Or crossing both lines or slightly straddling. Or what?
"Has all of the ball got to cross all of the line" as in football.
Or as in Rugby, is he in touch if a foot touches the line...?
-
Or however many shades of grey In between...?
-
Define crossing.
Common sense has to prevail, crossing is going across but if we even touched it on our advanced course it was a fail.
-
It would be fair to say that having to pass down the nearside of a correctly positioned on coming car would count as being over the line even to a liberal democrat ::)
What that video doesn't show is the carnage that followed... doubtless the car swerved in reaction to meeting the first bike, which would put it squarely in the path of the second one :-\
-
Hopefully after using up all his luck in one go, he has learned his lesson :o :o

CDF & Chris in the same sentence ......... ???

which is exactly what SWMBO & I discussed

Coincidentally I watched a slightly longer version of this earlier and it clearly showed the second rider to have pulled up to check on the other rider. Rider number 2 was fine, luckily for him. :y

Ah yes, here it is. No sign of the car though. :-\ Perhaps he thought stuff him. ::)
Thankfully, both of the other riders stopped safely. :y

Glad to see the lad go away with it. nothing more reckless then getting his corner set-up wrong. :)
What`s that smug git in the day-glo jacket on about then ???
So they`ve bunged up a few cameras & even more evil looking speed boards, so how does that make a safer road then. I`ve seen a bike destroyed by the bloody poles they keep bunging up next to the tarmac. That`s not a safer road.
-
That's modern road design for you. Make it safer by making it more dangerous. ::)
-
Aren't those poles snow poles to mark the edge of the road in drifting snow :-\

really, they need ripping out too cos the brits can`t drive in the white stuff anyway
-
Obviously doesn't know that if you need to lean the bike more in a corner, just apply a bit of opposite lock on the handlebars. :) :) :)
-
Apparently they get quite alot of it over the Penines ;D
-
Glad the pratt didn't damage the car ;D ;D ;D
-
He's a lucky boy! ::) :y
Wonder if he'll be going for his pilot licence next! ;D

Given he is apparently unscathed, he might go back for another go. ;D If that's his zx6 at the end propped up on the fence, it might even go.

Not enough experience or road sense of course ... this happens a lot when you get in a group of biking mates who all want to impress . Think himself lucky there wasnt any bad injuries and dont do it again ;)
