Do modern cars suffer from the sort of 'advisory' brake disc rust problem that seems to plague all Omegas? :-\ :-\ :-\
-
Yep
-
All but the worlds most expensive cars use a lump of machined cast iron for the discs.........so yes
-
Paint them first. Grey or black heat resistant paint.

No, that's calipers. Eejit. ;D
Your as bad at moaning about rust on the inboard outer face of omega discs as anyone.
Paint them,or buy painted. Such as Ebc#, as they don't rust.
#Jury still out if they can take the abuse, and they are more expensive than gm. But the point is they don't rust until the paint comes off, which is well over a year. Thus extending the point that rust becomes a problem past the wear life of the disc for most people.
Gm really should supply them painted. As a few aftermarket suppliers do now.

Nah, painting the disc as well is well wicked, innit.
I reckon the rust on mine is due to simply not trying hard enough. Mental note to self, economy is getting far too respectable.
