Our son has got his first car - a Megane Mk 1 Coupe. Needs some tlc and a bit of work to bring it back to life, but we'll get there. Noticed the floor carpet was wet and decided to inspect the sunroof drains for blockages, and sure enough the offside was full of water. I'm not sure this is the cause of the soaking carpet, but a good starting point. Haven't managed to get that cleared as yet despite efforts made, but now the roof won't close! Gutted. Bloomin Renault electrics!
There is no handbook with the car and the book of lies hasn't arrived yet. Anyone any ideas at this point? The roof is currently opened backwards as oppose to simply tilted :'(

Should be a manual over ride, remove cover that is where the roof motor is,usally a special key, allen key or flat head screw driver slot

Brilliant! Aperture in the centre of motor for an Allen key. Just wound it back. On testing, the roof works fine, EXCEPT when fully opened backwards. Not sure if that's a lazy motor or perhaps it's simply stuck at full extension. Something else to investigate :)
Thanks for the help though. At least it's now closed :y

That's all above my head :-X
It's a 1.6 though. I'll need to check the full stats

Might be a duff microswitch in the motor housing causing it to run further than designed to causing the mechanism to stick :-\

I had a scenic 1.6 mk1 a few years ago, which is basicly same s... sory couldn't resist, car as megane coupe. Check the scuttle drains, those can easily get blocked on mk1, causing wet carpet and heating fan go south. Only tools I used to take on a ride with scenic were a gallon of gasoline and a firelighter.... :-X

We bought a 10 reg megane coupe dymamique from the car people. It was six months old with three thousand miles on it. New cost was £18500 but we got it for £12500.
Three and a half years and 35000 miles later, it has passed its mots with only a sticky pad needing doing. It hasn't got a mark on it, looks brand new and drives perfectly.
Thecarbuyingservice have offered £5400 for it, so depreciation is better than most cars.
In short, it's a great car.
You really are a bunch of stuck-in- the-past tossers. ;D
