How does it come off?
There is a small screw either end of the spoiler (accessible via the boot lid). These have been removed but spoiler won't budge. Is it held on with clips and tape (like the black door strips) or is it just bonded on? :-\

F/L, MFL, saloon or estate :-\

Sorry Rob, should have been more specific. ;D
It is a Mini Facelift '99 saloon. Boot spoiler is Irmscher and lays flat on the boot lid.

Stiff bladed scraper and lump hammer. Start from one end with scraper under top part of spoiler, tap with hammer until you`ve freed up about 150mm, place scraper under bottom part of spoiler and do the same. Repeat process until about midway across bootlid then do the same from other end.
Takes me about 10 minutes.

So it's bonded then. Thanks :y
Would you also be able to answer this question as well.
I have taken off the plastic sill covers, just above the cover and just below the door opening there is a rubber weather strip (goes full length of the side) I need to remove it so I can tackle a little rust. It appears to sit on some thing Metal? Can't feel any clips. Does it just pull off/push on?
-
IIRC it`s a tight push-fit

Thanks Rob, you are a star :y :y :y

As Rob says, I now use a blunt Axe and a Club Hammer, start about 1mm away from the top of spoiler working each end towards the middle. then normally pulls off from the bottom.
Use to take me about half an hour, but since using Adam the Axe and Charlie the Club, got it down to 3 mins now :P
And if I find the Batwerds that took the car, I shall do it to there Heads in even less time. :(

It's a push fit onto what looks like a flat headed nail welded to the body. ;)

AndyB,
so when I squash the weather strip, the bit I thought was "Metal" is in fact part of the weather strip, and it's this that pushes into the "flat headed nail"?

Did mine by using a gas blow lamp on the inside of the boot lid...(not required ) and used a scraper on the outside between boot and spoiler....easy peasey.....then put onto my other car with bonding glue.. :y
