Title: 25 years on
Post by: SteveAvfc. on 15 April 2014, 17:48:15
25 years ago today a tragedy unfolded right before our eyes the like of which we had never seen before. 25 years on and the memory of that day is as fresh now as it was then, i remember watching those horrific scenes on tv and watching in disbelief as the police and stewards did nothing to help those poor helpless fans. Its a memory that will stay with me forever. As a father of young boys i have spent many a Saturday away watching a game of football and i cannot imagine what it must feel like to return home without them it is after all a game of football. The family's of those who perished have had to endure 25 years of injustice and now at long last it looks like the right and correct decisions will be reached. We will never forget those that have passed R.I.P The 96. :'( :'(

What will justice look like though? I doubt there'll be any manslaughter charges, nor anyone going to jail. A sincere apology and a recognition that you were right all these years will be very poor compensation for 25 years of anguish and heartache.

True Steve, but the names will be officially cleared at long last and the shitehawk government/authorities who have taken part in the nastiest cover up ever to disgrace them will be shown clearly for the scum that they are. I know some people outside the city maybe don't get it but I'm really proud of the resolve, dignity and determination shown by all involved in the campaign.   :y :'(

I was only 11 at the time and I'll never forget seeing it on tv unfolding before my very eyes. I still see when I think of it the a guy who was screaming and shouting at a copper to help and the copper doing absolutely nothing as fans were being hurt all around :'( :'( :'(

Rip 96 let's hope justice will finally be done

My anger over the cover up, South Yorkshire police, the coroner and politicians show no bounds.
My thoughts go out to the family and friends of the 96. :'( Their dignity and resolution are an inspiration. :y

GOD BLESS.
