Great idea until the paint gets covered in oil and road grime :-\

and also after snow :-\ cats eyes are always better.. it helped me to find where the road is in many snowy conditions.. unless snow is meter deep..

The active catseyes are neat; there's a stretch (I think, anyway) on the M40 not long before the A404 junction when you're heading south that makes me smile at night if it's quiet..
.. because looking in the rear view mirror and seeing them snake off into the distance all lit up is just like being in a video game :-[ :-[ ;D

Yup, at the cutting for the M40. It's funky at night, look behind if it's empty looks like a runway.

There were trials of different types of catseyes on the A11 between 4 Went Ways roundabout and A14 some time
ago when i was coming back from Harlow. Some of them looked very good.

There must be summat about that stretch of the A11, north bound at the end of the Newmarket bypass iirc, there always used to be a road marking trial of some sort going on, in particular about 1/4 mile of rumble strips in the left hand lane, where it used to flood in heavy rain...
