Title: Bosch dishwasher recall. Heads up.
Post by: chrisgixer on 23 April 2014, 23:40:17
Ours is playing up.

199 on the display, no heat from the element. Google reveals, a recall, and a risk of fire. Off with the machine. "Engineer" due 31st.

On a serious note, this would have to happen now. She's off on a family holiday tomorrow. Due back on the 30th. Ffs ;D

Ha ha, you bought the over priced Bosch branded one rather than the reasonably priced Hotpoint one which is the same machine.  ;D

Both have the same recall by the way, its actualy nohing to serious and an easy fix  :y

And i seem to recall....Taxi Al tried to convince me to buy a Bosch when i was having problems with my Indesit DW  ;D

Strangely the Indesit.....when it was on economy....would fail to start the pump up everytime.....turning off economy makes it works fine 90% and for the other 10% of the time, turning it off and on several times (so it flushes water thro it) or giving it a big kick seems to sort it out  ::) ;D

Dunno why the difference of economy or 'full fat' leccy used makes a difference tho  :-\

Ours is 10 years old iirc. Been fine apart from the soap door, and now the 199 code.

I'd buy another. Assuming I knew about any recall. Of course. And just get the work done. No dramas. Yet. (I'm still using it, it's now completed its cycle after its intermittent crank sensor style fault, but obviously keeping a close eye on it)

Buimmer - Dishwashers are great for cleaning up oily engine parts, and the stupid thing goes wrong just when she goes away. You have my sympathies.
