As you know ive sold the cabby and thats hopefully going in the next 2 days, ive already sorted out a replacement car, vauxhall frontera 2.2 swb with lpg,as i want to try off roading has anybody done a course they could recommend?

Fellow member Ianu is probably the man to speak to. He's done a bit of off-roading.  :y

cheapest way is to join a 4x4 group (F.O.G for you ) and they run off road pay and play and green lane trips and all it costs is a tank of fuel

-
Cheers,im already a member on f.o.g just want some experience 1st before going off road with other people, and to know how to use the 4x4 properly and its limits  :y

tbh if you go green laning there is always enough experience to teach the right way...one thing I will say is NEVER go alone  :y

another way is to join your local 4x4 response group as they run off road courses only prob is you do have to volunteer

I wont go alone.will make sure im with an organised group ,need to get all terrain tyres fitted tho before i even think about going lol :D

Hi, You seem to be near the bedfordshire area - google "Devils Pit" they are near Barton and have a good reputation on Landy Zone and have various courses you can try and plenty of help available if it goes wrong, I was going to take my Range Rover off roading up there but that went against my OCD on keeping my cars spotless :)

 Hope that helps

 Darren.

Ah yes i remember that place, forgot it was there :y

If you go out with a decent crowd  of experience members they will keep you right ,  i used to offroad in a frontera sport  2.0  with a set of muds i kept upwith the landies  i am in a an offroad club    i learned as i went    now own  isuzu`s  at  ok if it a grass fielld or bit of lanning but if you gonna do offroading  you will need mud tyres.
