Title: Spanish Grand Prix
Post by: Varche on 10 May 2014, 19:56:21
It comes to something when the The GP2 cars are now lapping quicker than the F1 cars  ;D ;D

They sound better too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4gvD4oV3kM

Still a race is a race. No chance of rain I am afraid.

so Ricciardo, Raikonnen, Alonso. I am assuming that Rosberg will take Hamilton out in a futile effort to show he is joint number one. ;D ;D

Just got to get Radio 5 live commentary to go with Spanish TV picture. I cannot endure another race where every other word is Alonso even though he is a competent driver!!

Be much easier to just flip a coin to decide if Hamilton or Rosberg wins the world championship and cancel the rest of the races. Mercedes have over 1 second a lap advantage over the rest of the field. As the other teams improves, so do Mercedes. :o :o :o

Apparently, they are working on a Mega sound box for the exhaust which will be fitted after the Canadian GP, so they sound like loud sewing machines. ::) ::) ::) Without these changes to the regulations, so the engine R&D is relevant to real cars, then Mercedes and Renault would both have quit as engine suppliers, so the F1 authorities had no choice but to go Green.

I shouldn't really say this but periodically I fit a Mega sound box to a Spanish friends car when I see it parked up in an obscure place. I carry a supply of cut off old bike inner tubes. He has no idea and has never mentioned it but he is a great practical joker. perhaps F1 could use them. ;D ;D ;D

Lap times 5 seconds a lap slower than last years race, I think they said.

They look/are exceptionally loose round this track for some reason. Or have they been from race one.....?

All except Hamilton of course...? :y

Not a bad race, improved towards the end. Predictable result but I hate to admit that Vettel showed he can start midfield and finish in the points. Mercedes are so far in front of the others who seem to be on a par.

Beginning to look like another abysmal season from McLaren, where the only thing they look like winning again is the big team "Lantern Rouge". ::) ::) ::) ::)

Considering they have Merc engines too, it's even worse.

Does all of this mean Mercedes/renault will be offering 200mph, 1.6 litre cars soon?

Unlikely. But 150 MPH 1.6 litre (turbo) cars are pretty close to becoming reality. :y
