If you want it to last, you want something of good quality.

Lemforder, from allgermanparts  :y

Unfortunately, there's is no such thing as far as we know on here. As the last two idlers known to be bought from All German as Lemforder items only lasted 6months, and nobody knows of any other reliable source, that only leaves dealers.

£100 plus retail. £90 on trade. (Not available at tc prices )

There really is no other alternative, unless you know anyone who can machine a new inner bush from Nylon...?

Lemforder were ALWAYS the one to buy, OEM performance at half the price.

Lately, they have not been performing, whether they have been changed, been a faulty batch, or they are fraudulent copies is unknown.  Many other cheapies are worse than what you replace from day 1.

I was buying German made parts for there quality for my BMW. Unfortunately a lot of the parts are now made in China and are no longer made in Germany and the German parts I received (made in China) were not made to the same high standard, imo.  :o This has been my experience anyway.

No sadly not. I'm very annoyed about it as that 6months was the best part of the new tyres fitted to the car. I spent most of that time thinking "doesn't feel quite right this, what's going on"
Idler replaced, now the tyres have gone away, obviously not helped by odd wear due to the idler.

It's really not worth messing about.

Master mentioned febi ones a while back. No experience with them personally, as will stick with genuine now.

Maybe he'll post on them...? :)

The basic test of an idlar is how it fits at day one I have always found.

The poo ones have play from the moment they are fitted and many dont fit properly, others fit but have play unless you tighten them to two grunts and a skid mark level.
