Been on nights over the weekend and on Saturday I was called out to a breakdown on the M56 in a live lane due to the roadworks and lane 1 being the hard shoulder. So I arrive to find 1 male who in an attempt to get as far over to his left, had managed to get stuck & ground the car in the gravel. His wipers had failed but he'd managed to get them working again ::) Ok I thought, recovery will have him out in a jiffy, but when I looked at the rear of his car I saw 1/2 a brake disc spat out on the floor??? and yup it had come from his rear nearside wheel. I told him about it and he was recovered to the nearest service station & told me he was gonna stay in the attached travel lodge overnight & sort the car out in the morning.
So about an hour or so later I'm just patrolling the area, come off the motorway at the Lymm interchange & guess what I see sneaking off round the roundabout on to the slip???? Same said vehicle previously recovered :o :o :o :o Surely I thought its impossible to repair this at 0300 hours on Sunday morning??? So I spin round & go for a closer look, get up close and.................. :o :o :o >:( >:( >:( >:( see the nearside brake caliper dangling on the floor bouncing off the road and sparking down the carriageway ??? ??? ???
Needless to say he didn't get far!!!
On inspection NO repairs had been even attempted and the caliper had been snapped off its bolts I can only presume by the 1/2 disc that was left upon applying the brakes???
What a complete utter $$$*$*£^*

It'd be mildly amusing if it was only him in potential danger ...... but the roads have the rest of Joe Public on them >:(

This is one of the few times where police brutality should be positively encouraged :-X

I learnt along time a go that you can't stop a fool being a fool. :( At least you stopped him before the brakes failed and his wallet is much lighter as a result of his stupidity. :y

Had he been drinking or on drugs >:(
What car was it?

What a twat - deserves all he got and more ::)

You'd be surprised at how many idiots are on the roads , im sure some of them havent even passed a test ::) :(

Once recovered he should have been parked up and wheel clamped to stop the car from being driven again untill repairs had been carried out, my concern would have been for poor unsuspecting drivers around him whilst on the road home. :-X

He must be a total nutter. :o
