Do you find it easy to make an appointment with your doctor?.......I find it almost impossible.
You can phone at either 8 in the morning or 12 noon for an emergency appointment that day, but the reality is that they rarely pick up the phone, or it's constantly engaged. :(
The earliest appointment I could make (not an emergency) was for the 30th May. :(
It's little wonder that Accident and Emergency is at breaking point. :(
Pissed off from Lincolnshire. :-X
Sorry, wrong section. :-[ :-[ :-[

I'm lucky enough to live right opposite my doctors, even still there are 6 odd doctors over there and your lucky even if you get to see one within 3 days. So every time now I need to go I say it's an emergency and I'm normally seen within 4 hours.
But I know what your saying >:(
By the time you get to see a doctor your better anyway ::)

Well I dont have 'A' doctor, it seems to be a random person with the only guarantee being that I wont ever see the same one twice.
And getting an appointment is always a challenge...

Well that was my experience until we came to Spain.
Here you ring a central number (serves whole province) , give you NHS number equivalent. That tells them who you are and shows your doctors appointment book. When would you like to go? 10.30 in the morning. 10.30 is booked , can offer you 10.20 or 10.40?. I think it is very well organised. If you want to see the nurse (mornings only) again you just book an appointment for things like change a dressing or your regular blood pressure tests etc. I also like that your history is on the computer and accessible by most health professionals in the province. If you have an XRay or tests YOU are expected to keep the results and bring them next time if required. No massive paper files.

3 to 4 weeks waiting to see my doctor. Last time i rang up.

As I've said before, I can't complain at all about mine.
It's about 6 or 7 miles from home, and I did consider moving practice to the one at the end of my road when my previous doctor returned. Mate of mine mentioned that he's with them and it's difficult to get an appointment so I've stayed where I am!

I guess I am lucky, never failed to get a same day appointment, may have to go to the next village, but as we do not have a surgery in our village, so have to drive or get a lift, that is little hardship.......... :y :y

I started a thread on the same subject about a week ago.
