Title: Radio Aerial Socket Pushed Through Back Plate

Hi Guys

I've got the radio out of my Omega, the radio is a CCR 2006, does anyone know how to get the metal housing out, I think one of the barbs which hold the aerial in place as broken as a result when I pushed the radio in it's shoved the aerial socket right through the back plate.

Is there anyway it can be held in  place while pushing the radio in ie getting my hand round the back to hold it place or if anyone knows of a repair please don't hesitate to let me know.

I think the cage is held in by a couple of Philips-head screws, but its been years since I did one last...

One Phillips screw in the rear centre then bend the sides in, the top down, and the bottom up and wriggle the cage free. Re-shape it when re-fitting

And cut finger as I just have not 20mis ago fitting my other stereo :y

Thanks Guys, absolutely spot on RobG, as you said just one screw at the back and ten lugs.
3 at the top, likewise at the bottom and 2 either side  :y.

Turns out the lug on the aerial socket hadn’t broken, just a bit weak, I’ve managed to stick something under it so the barb sticks out a bit more, it seems to be ok when pushed with my finger, guess the real test will be when I shove the radio back in.

Thank god for that Plym ian, I thought I was the only one who got cut when working on cars  ;D, the trims on cars these days are a real pain, held in place with springs or clips as part of the moulding and usually break getting the trim off.
