for the past few months my passenger door has had the central locking working at random but whenever it didnt open you could always pull up the button on the door and get in.
today it just wont open and the button is stuck down solid, no matter how hard you pull.
anyone got any suggestions of how to open it?, preferable without ripping the door card to bits :(

Did you dead-lock it?

Dead Locked?
-
yep deadlocked.
all other doors working fine.

Window open, from outside grasp protected doorpin with molegrips and pull pin up, bit of brute force required
-
is brute force on the door pin going to work even if it might deadlocked

Yup :y
Hence the suggestion...

once its open, is it new motor time, as the times when it worked, it would lock but only on deadlock.
so anoying was down scrap yard yesterday and totally forgot to get a cl motor, got distracted at finding a new headlight washer in there;D

You're better off taking the motor apart and replacing the microswitch IMHO. There's a maintenance guide.. :y

If you wind the window down it is possible to use a length of 2.3mm dia. weld rod bent a to a hook at the end to first pull off the brown plastic cover and then pull the catch open. It is fiddly and you need a small torch to illuminate the door interior. Also it really helps to have a spare catch to see how the lock operates so that you know where to locate the hook to open the door. I had to do exactly the same last year and it took me approximately 15 minutes to open the door this way. The only damage was to the brown plastic cover which can be superglued back together.

cheers for the tips guys, but didnt need brute force in the end it just decided to start working again today ::), so have disconnected the motor for now till i can get new micro switches for it.
