Title: Just battled through the rain to vote
Post by: Stemo on 22 May 2014, 12:40:35
It didn't look like many others had bothered. Place was like a morgue. I'm sure I saw them slip a pack of playing cards under the table as I walked in.

it was quite sunny when I went to the polling station at 8.15 but then I saw the huge piece of wallpaper with a cast of thousands listed and just one cross required which darkened the atmosphere. What a waste. Very quiet though just like Wakefield.

I don't suppose the ballot papers have a box for "Sack the MEPs", do they?

Apparently, it's against the law for me to broadcast it publicly or to take a selfie in the polling booth. :P

A 'selfie' in the polling booth is far more advisable than 'self abuse' in the polling booth......so I hear. ::) ::) :)

Surprisingly, there's no legislation to cover that. But selfies are frowned upon by the returning officer. ;D

Yeah, more than enough.

But in the same breath; (...;D )

I suspect ukip will do rather well. Despite the number of inbred morons among them.

.... Oh no wait, they're all inbred morons. Silly me.

Dodged the thunderstorms to visit the Mary Celeste polling station and vote at about 2pm. I was the only person voting. :o :o :o

I have never known such a vicious vindictive smear campaign as there has been against UKIP by the three incumbent parties in conjunction with the MSM. So I hope the incumbents all get a bloody nose when the results are announced. :y :y :y

I don't know if it's me and being distracted by a multitude of other things, but the whole thing seems to have been a bit low key. I'm hardly aware that there is anything going on.

If this is general and not just me, then UKIP should do well, as their supporters will have stronger views and be more motivated to actually vote.

I voted from the comfort of my armchair - is a postal vote!
( that way my local iman can tell me which to vote for!)

Just took my lad (he's 18) to vote for the first time  :y

Standard turnout around here as per normal.
Everybody loves to shout there mouth off about Thatcher and all the rest of the 'dangle berries' but the turnout is always pathetic  ::) >:( >:(

Normally, its a case of voting for  (what you think is) the best of a shite bunch.
This time, both X's have gone into the box with the £ sign next to it  :)

It would be great if UKIP could kick the arse of the normal 2 muppet parties that vie for the seats but knowing how the inbred tossers around here think, I can't see it happening   :(

For once in my life, I think a polling count could be interesting tonight  ;)

Naughty  ;D

Apparently, he doesn't have to tell you who you voted for. It's none of your bloody business. ;D

I usually like to exercise my democratic right to vote, after all if nobody bothered.......  ::)

However this time none of the candidates for the MEP seat made any effort to get my vote, no leaflets, no canvassing, no posters, nothing!  >:(  So I thought fockem and didn't bother.  ::)  :(

It's the same round here although I have no interest in it, you wouldn't know there was voting coming up. Normally there's propaganda through the door and people with clipboards banging on your door. It's as if none of the parties could be bothered this year. It's a sign of the way the country is going :(

I was standing at the front door last week when a man with a clipboard looked over my garden gate. I gave him one of my looks and he ficked off. He could have been an election canvasser, I suppose.  :-\

Only had UKIP and Conservative leaflets, but then again the Lib Dims and Liebour, normally do well if they get into double digits around here.

As the results are through proportional representation, with party lists, nobody has much idea who their indirectly voting for or who will get in. :( :( :( :o :o :o

Sorry Chris, I don't normally get ragged off, but that remark hit the bits. That's exactly WHY people vote UKIP, because of statements like that. Everybody is entitled to vote or belong to whichever party they wish, without being called a moron, it backfired on Cameron. Had you watched the TV yesterday, you would have seen a totally different attitude towards UKIP, with most guests falling over backwards to distant themselves from those exact remarks. They realised they got a good kicking.

If you talk about morons....you want to look at all the present MP's >:(
