I was going to say that RobG clearly had a sentimental side as he hasn't broken every Omega to pass through his hands...

Sad to see  :'(
It`s a metal box for gods sake
... Cleary I'd have been wrong ;D

Half the silver facelift Omega saloons on the road could disappear overnight and noone would notice ::)

A clean and tidy prefacelift being binned would be a shame (I don't even like the pfl btw), as most are starting to dissolve...

Some of the rarer colours are possibly worth saving regardless of spec, but a silver CDX desmond, unless it had every single factory option or a special owner, is a worthy sacrifice to the cause...

For an idea of what may/may not be rare see here...

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=103694.0

Mine being one of only 9 currently taxed 2004 registered plod manuals... only 4 sorned 8) No telling how many are white or estates though. Unfortunately the site doesn't list by colour, but I suspect that half the Omegas on the road are silver :-\

Only 1 CDX dual fuel left and it's sorned...

If you want a car to save for uniqueness try and pin this one down, a 2000 desmond :y

Bet it's silver though ::)

One gold pfl and one ruby red fl here ... vx must of had a bulk load of silver paint to get rid of  :D As for style i think the pf is better looking from the front and the fl better looking from the back  :y

Silly arse ;D

The one I linked to is factory dual fuel as per the V5 model designation... besides I would hope that as a daily driver, your car isn't sorned... ::)

 ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well mine is duel fuel, registered as DVLA as dual as well. One could argue Lazydocker's work is better than the original 'factory' down the road bodge fit.

In fact too err nit pick  ;D are no 'factory' fit LPG Omegas :)

a sad sight...

Bit harsh! ;)

I have no idea why I get so attached to my cars but I do, regardless of whether they're a metal box. By the same token if my PC was to explode or my phone be stolen, as long as I had a backup of all the photos* on them, I wouldn't give a flying monkey...

*selfies, obviously

It`s a metal box for gods sake

A Lancaster Bomber is a metal tube, with green paint
A Concord is a metal tube, with white paint
A Spitfire is a curved metal tube
A Vulcan has lots of metal too

Ok granted the Omega lacks heritage of the above, but you can grow to like metal things  ;)

Wrong ::) 'Dual Fuel' in this case refers to the model designation and was available as a factory order across the Vauxhall range, including Astra G, Vectra B/C, Omega B and Zafira A.

Not disputing the quality of the installs, but that database is based on the original details as supplied to the DVLA for first registration, and break all to do with being on any lpg database or post registration changes.

If your car was a 'Vauxhall Omega CDX Dual Fuel', then it would have been a factory ordered conversion and registered as that exact model.

But it wasn't  ::) so is simply a 'Vauxhall Omega CDX' which happens to run on lpg and as such qualifies for a £10 reduction in annual Road Fund Licence.

I only posted that as an example of a genuinely rare Omega. Only twenty were ever registered, and all were in the 2000 model year.

Yours, a 2000 CD, is one of 1400 manual 2.2 CDs registered in the same period and therefore isn't, so stop arguing for the sake of it. It only makes you look stupid :-X

So how many 3.2 MV6 estates are left ::)

FFS i was just stating that none of the duel fuel Omegas were actually converted by Vx, it was done post build, by another company, so not factory fit but what ever if you don't want to listen  ::)

Doesn't differenciate between saloon/estate, but on engine size, MV6 autos...

http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/vauxhall_omega_mv6_auto

3.2 105 petrol and 5 other (presumably lpg) taxed and 14 sorned
2.6 107 petrol and 1 other taxed and  9 sorned.
3.0 177 petrol and 4 other taxed and 76 sorned.

Manuals, the numbers halve...

http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/vauxhall_omega_mv6

The majority in both cases will be saloons, probably 4:1 :-\

Nowt to do with whether Adam Opel, Geoff in Liverpool or Bob from West Tisted did the conversion, the were sold as official models in the range and registered from new as such, which is the fundamental basis of the database.

If you didn't insist on jumping in to every discussion head first with both feet tied to your elbows, you wouldn't need to backtrack all the time.

Just a tin box to those in the scrap business . Someone up north came to fetch my old Elite and said he actually collects them and saves/sells the parts . At the time he had about 9 Omegas  :o
