I've just returned from the quack, he wanted to have a chat about my recent blood test results.
He's sending me to hospital for something called a 'bone marrow biopsy'
In it's most basic form, they remove a core of your bone marrow using something similar to a glorified corkscrew. Sounds like great fun. :y ;)
Has anyone on here undergone this routine procedure? .

Ive had a kidney biopsy,a lymph node biopsy. And was told plenty of local anesthetic and you wont feel a thing, and they was right, but take some paracetamols before you go and after the procedure :y
-
I would double check with
Dr Cem your gp before taking anything on the way to it :-\
-
The reason you take the paracetamols before and after is to ensure they are working to help with any pain you may get, but then iam not as under qualified as DR cem. Or a renal consultant who told me 8)

Wasn't having a pop, but it would be an expensive mistake if it cost DrLord Opti his appointment is all :y

never had it :( any pain relief drug will decrease the blood viscosity so talk to your doc :-\

It's only pain, it goes away :P

Don't like the sound of that corkscrew bit :( Hope all goes well Mr opti :y

I'd rather have the corkscrew in my bone than down my bellend. ;) ;D ;D

Personally, I think that the quack is overreacting. I feel as fit as a 'butchers dog'. :y
Lot of fuss about nothing really.

Its the inevitable outcome when you tell the missus that her sister is hotter....

Yeah...but you should see the exquisite creature in question, TB. :-* :-* :-* :-*
The words just came out by themselves. :-\ :-\ The next I knew, a 'flying laptop' came hurtling toward me. :-\ ;D

Been having them annually for the past 6 years .. and every 3 months or so for the 9 years before that ... only good things I can think of to say .... 15 years ago the thing was the size of co-ax cable and I had a general anesthetic every time .... and I believe the picture was a very grainy black and white ... now the cable is so thin you don't get (or need) any anesthetic at all - not even the gel stuff they used for a while - and the picture is very clear and in full colour.
Yup .. I watch while they do it !!
Hopefully this year will be the 10th fully clear year and that will be the end of it .. :)
