Hi
Have 2 omegas, 1 with working engine and a shady body(560000km) and 1 with crashed engine and a nicer body(240000km).....possible too swap the working engine and auto too the nicer one, problems? Syncing electronics, theft protection etc.?
Or is it straight on mechanics work without any hustle?
Thankful for input!

Are they both 2.5DTi's?
-
Yes, sorry, they are both 2.5dti with auto gearbox 2002.
-
We never got the 2.5DTi here in the UK, we had the lesser 2.2DTi in its place :'(
Not sure if the pump is coded to the ECU - is so, you'll probably need to swap the ECU (and immobiliser) over as well. If not, should get away with just changing the lump

Oh, ok, I thought it would be a common engine everywhere! I haven't got any clue how much it differ too the same engine when it sits in a BMW either or what's online in them....but someone knows I'm sure of! :)

In the UK, we had the U25DT and X25DT (the earlier, non common rail BMW 2.5TDs) up until 2001. The Y25DT, the BMW common rail one, was only fitted to Opel badged Omegas (and coupled to a 5 speed auto).
I suspect all the info is in TIS, if you have access to that?

TIS, some kind of computerwhatswrongthingy? ???
-
Yes, TIS is Vauxhall/Opel's computer based info library.

Did a quick check with a gm workshop, as long as I don't move any of the boxes etc, it's straight mechanics and should start without any problems...hope they are serious! :-)
