I looks like I've got a bee's nest in the attic as I've spotted a few bees coming and going from a small hole in the apex on the gable end. ::) To be honest it hasn't bothered me, but this afternoon there were lots of them flying around the hole.... :-\
I havn't been up in the attic yet (too chicken! :D ) and I rarely go up there anyway so I'm not sure if I should be bothered about my bees or not..... :-\
What do you lot think? ??? Thanks in advance! :y

Bee careful ::)
-
Get in touch, with a local bee keeper, they will normal take them away for FREE, or tell you who to contact.
A
or in extreme measures burn the house down ;D gets rid of the bees'
bee nice to them bee's they in decline due to chemical sprays.
-
Borrow a pair from Doctor Lord Opti, and have free honey :y
-
As already mentionned find your local beekeeping club as they will often come and move them for free although if the Queen is in the cavity it might be difficult.
The council might just come qnd spray them so ask what them what they will do first before letting them loose of your furry friends :y

I think ive got a bees nest in my shed......did some research online and contacting a local bee keeper seems the way to go, if they are honey bees (there are non producing honey bees about as well).....however if they are not interfering too much, it might be worth leaving them there as i discovered they only use the nest once....so next year they'll be gone :y

That was my line of thinking to be honest! :y We did have a Wasp's nest up there once and only found out after they were long gone! ::)
I got one hell of a shock when I saw this!! :o :o :o

I'll have to man up and have a look at the bee's construction. ::) :-\

Don't worry about it mate. Its just an old grey wig of don king. ;D ;D ;D

As Taxi Driver said, if they arn,t giving you any bother just leave them bee. ::). Had a wasps nest in gable end
last year, left ,em to it and they disappeared a few weeks later. :y
-
We had bees 'nesting' in an old bird box the other year. I phoned a local apiary R US and she said that if they aren't bothering you, just leave them bee! We did. :y
-
Bees are in steep decline the last thing to do is to destroy them. If on the other hand you were talking wasps "nuke the b*ggers" >:( as said try to get in touch with local bee keepers to see if they can help.
-
Let them bee!
;)

They're definitely bees, so I've no intention of destroying them or letting anyone else harm them! :y

wasn't that a bee-tals song ;D
-
If they are honey bee's as opposed to bumbles then an apiarist will take them but if they are in the cavity then probably not. And you aren't allowed to kill them whether they are bumbles or honey bee's, so if they aint pestering you leave alone :y :y

Honey Bee's! :y
One crash landed in front of me the other day as he was over loaded with pollen! He sat and had a breather for a couple of minutes and then buzzed off! :y
-
I've just had a look in the attic and there's no sign of a nest, so it looks as though they're in the cavity, where they can stay! :y
You'd think the cheeky little bastids would give me some honey for rent though! :-\ ;D

Drill a hole in a brick and put a tap on it , instant honey on tap ;D

Sounds like it's the Bees and Eee's of a nest. ::) ::) ::)
-
Got exactly the same as you Steve, nothing in the loft, but loads flying around the end apex. :y
Phoned the council, but all they said was just leave them alone :(
-
I have just noticed that I too have a bees nest under the roof tiles on an annexe. I'll have a look in the roof void next time, which will be chrimbo as the deccys are there. :y
-
Just had the gutters and facias done on my Mums flat. They found a bees nest, behind the old facia. Exterminators or pest controle, what ever they are, said, wasps, no problem. Bees, they can't, won't, are not allowed to touch.
Not likely to cause any agro anyway.

It looks as though my bees have buzzed off to pastures new, as there bee no sign of any activity! ::)
There was a good programme on bees last night on BBC2 with Chris Packham the guy from Springwatch. I think part 2 is on tonight and it's worth watching as it's very fascinating! :y

Ozzycats favourite tv presenter ;D Dont mention foxes >:(
-
Same here, Steve.....they seem to have 'buzzed' off. ;D
Have not seen one for a few days now. Never did have any in the loft, or indoors. And as we have cavity wall insulation, I assume they must have been under the tiles. :y

I assumed that the cavity wall insulation stuff must settle so maybe there's a nice space for them to nest in the apex? :-\

They say bees are in danger, I'd look at local club/keepers. Shame to have them smoked out :(
