Only problem is its one of those Smart 2 seater jobbies, looks cool though, Black with silver lower bits, great leather seats, current runs fine (quick!) on petrol although throws a Fault bleep when switched to LPG.
Its someone I know, was his wifes, but shes got bored with it now and wants something bigger, purely a 'when she goes shopping' point of view.
Hes looking for 2 and a half, but will accept offers around the 2k mark for a quick sale, overall in perfect condition on 2006 year (I think, its got a private plate).
Dont have 2k spare, but could do a deal with Him, :-\
What they like, much demand, re sellable?, worth much more with the LPG running?, Thoughts please?
Chris. :-\ :y

I am sure that if Merc could, they would totaly disassociate themselves from the Smart brand.
-
::) end of ;D
-
Didn't marie have one a while ago ?
Don't know if she is picking up her pm's :-\
-
I got slightly excited by your post.
A 6.3 litre twin turbo Merc for just £2,000.
....and then I read the word 'Smart'.... :'(
-
Still a 3.2 V6 iirc, and in a roller skate, quite potent I should think :y

Except none of those particular types were ever offered for sale.....so it will still be the delight that is the 3 pot I-3 Mitsubishi engine with a blower.

I reckon it's probably just the regular Smart Fortwo Brabus;
Nestled up back over the rear axle, the 1.0-litre turbo engine receives added boost pressure and a more free-flowing exhaust, while torque increases from 88bhp to a more muscular 103lb ft at 3500rpm.

[edit] What he said up there..
[edit edit] I just read that quote - "torque increases from 88bhp", I think Autocar need to go back to school ;D

I had a tussle with one of those in the MX5 a couple of years back. It couldn't keep up. Not a prayer. ;D
In fairness, there wasn't a lot in it, in a straight line at low speeds, but, on the bends where I was following, I was backing off in case he put it on its' side in front of me. :o At higher speeds, I guess the shite aerodynamics and the 40BHP deficit really did for the SMART, as it dropped way back. Or maybe the driver was protecting the state of his undies? ;D
It looked absolutely abysmal. ::)

Speak with Andy B, his 'tothr arf' has a vanilla version of one :y

I think the last thing he mentioned was that he might set light to it as it's not been all that reliable recently ;D

Which one do you want?

So guessing there not liked much then. ;D
If you turn them on there side will it fit in the back of an Omega Estate, could be useful for London.

It's back on the road again. Local Merc/Smart indie managed to de-code all the keys. A mere £120 at Mercedes themselves had it running again.
I'm using it for work now nearly 50mpg instead of mid/high 20mpg :y

WTF do you fit a LPG tank on a Smart ..... assuming a Roadster :-\

Oh yes! If only they could. ;D ;D

Oh, it's a Roadster? The one I came across was a ForTwo. ;D

Pass! :-\ :-\ My other half has a Roadster Coupe, but have my doubts re the OP's car :-\ :-\

I had the use of a SMART for a few days once through work. Good fun for nipping around town in! :y

This one is a 2 seater Job.
Stock Pic of the Net.

This one is a 2 seater Job.
The Roadster and the ForTwo are both 2 seaters ;)
At the price I'm guessing it's a ForTwo, otherwise it's a very cheap Roadster..

Pic, 2 up /\ /\ ;)

Fancy sneaking a picture in like that.. :P ;D
ForTwo, then.
-
Ok, so its a shite Car, but serious question poeple, is worth 2k, thinking get the LPG sorted, she never run on LPG anyway, so might, just might be empty has she said gauge doesn't work, cant remember the mileage, not much though, and they've had from new.

Its possibly about on the money in reality, Smarts dont tend to 'age' well.
-
I wouldn't consider it, it's not expensive...but if you intended to make any worthwhile profit, I think you would struggle.
Mark is spot on, as usual...a Smart under warranty / less than 3 years old is great. Anything other than that gives me nightmare's.
-
Someone I work with has one and is very involved with one of the forums.
I have had the delight of doing work on the dam thing and its not pleasent....in fact hers is called Mr Poo and has a matching number plate.
I think there are some original bits left on it to. ;D

Tyre valve caps? ;D

Assuming it's as 'easy' to work on as a Roadster, everything engine wise is an arse to get to do (apart from maybe the air filter ::) )
-
Ok, thanks all, think I'll pass then, as I know nothing about these cars. ;)
There was only 2 reasons for the interest, LPG and the word Brabus.
Ive got a sneaky feeling that theres nothing wrong with the LPG, if I read the Girls body language correctly, I think she was more afriad of the Gas side of things, and told Hubby it packed up so she didn't have to use it.
Was kind of thinking with the LPG up and running might be able to flip it for a few hundred quid. :-\
Probably just as well, as if I start driving it on LPG and find it does pound for pound the equivalent to 100+ MPG, would have probably ended up keeping it. >:( ;D
