Title: Rocker cover
Post by: Simon270172 on 15 June 2014, 13:04:44
Hi all,

Further to my other numerous problems I thought it time to tackle the fairly serious oil leak from the off side rocker cover, however upon cleaning and inspection it has become evident that I need to replace said cover as there are cracks on the inside bracings running down the length between some of the holes.
I am aware that best practice is to replace with a pair of alloy ones off of a Vectra but that's just not doable at the moment.
So I was wondering if some kindly person might place a wanted ad in the appropriate section for me for a good second hand one, if such a thing exists.

Ta very muchly,

Simon.

It is certinally not good practice to use Vectra Alloy ones  :y

Make a wanted add for plastic cam cover in test zone, sure an admin would be kind enough to move it :)

Using the metal covers has potential to blow the crank seals due to the differences between the breather design on the Vectra compared to the Omega :y

Right got you :y

Its just that where I was looking they have two different styles, one for the 2.5 and 3.0 with round plug holes like mine and one for the 2.6 and 3.2 with rectangular holes which I thought might be for individual coils like BMW fit, they list these with part no's 55351452/3 opel perhaps? But having dug deeper it would appear they are wrong and you are right :y
But what do those others fit then? as they claim that they are genuine GM parts ???
