I just gave my barclaycard a hammering.... and bought a nice shiny new sequential LPG kit for the 2.0 Estate. [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]
I've gone for the SGIS front end system which in my mind is a proven system, which I've seen installed with good results on at least 3 Omega's. This one has the 3ohm Valtek injectors which are better than the older, yellow type.
For the rear end I'm using BRC/Stako kit, with a 50l tank mounted in the spare wheel recess. I know it's a small tank, but it's a preferable option to having a cylinder and not being able to drop the seats.
As for the filler, I am quite likely going to mount this in the rear drivers side quarter panel, or fit the towbar and mount it there. Currently undecided.
The tank is arriving on Thursday, so I am hoping to spend this weekend on the backend conversion and pipe runs, and "work from home" for a couple of days over next week, to complete the front end fitting ::)
All being well, there is a very good chance I'll be cooking on LPG by the time the Lakes meet comes...
Total cost of the kit? £550.
At the current difference with petrol/LPG prices where I am, I will make the cost of the conversion back in under 5000 miles.
Granted the engine is a high-miler, BUT I still think at this price it's worth converting!

3 working days is my plan.
One day on Sunday this weekend to do the rear end, pipe runs and filler - and two days in the week for the frontend..

Will you be local?

Aye, there's a good chance I'll be in Cheltenham doing much of this, I may even try and enlist Markie's help.
You fancy popping along?

Depends what I am up to - car boot Saturday, Mystery shopping Sunday.
I'd like to see the car anyway.
If you go for towbar mounted - fit it first.
Also you could have got a 60l tank and fitted a false floor ALA Taxi Driver. I have seen it and it works well.

I am pretty sure it is a 68l tank with a 48l usable capacity but I'm not 100%
It's the same one we fitted to Marie's Estate..

PM TD I can't remember his size
As to 60l you should get 50l in, I get 60l into a 70l
-
If I can get 50l I'll be over the moon...

I did consider some kind of underbody option, but ultimately, I can't be bothered, a toreodial tank is much easier to fit and, it's not exactly hard to pop into the garage and fill up :)

Depends where the garage is - I only use the one near work if a) I run low during the week, b) My barbeque bottle runs low, c) doing funny trips and not able to go to Calor or Flogas, d) when it floods before heading home - engine can be running for a couple of hours.

James, did the kit come from Jeremy?

Yes it did ;)

Can you mount the filler on the towbar under the LPGA Regs?? :-/

Absolutely. Jeremy gave me a nice plate that flush mounts the LPG filler on the towbar plate.
Just need to ditch my removable towbar, unfortunately. :'( Still, rather that than a hole in the bumper.

This i will ask him this evening when i pick up my kit minus the vaporiser :(
Will it attach to the Vx swan neck type towbar mounting??
-
i beleive it will if not you can make your own attachment like i did.
you dont even notice its for gas most people who have looked at it think its for towing!
James if you have the same tank as me the max size tank you can fit in the spare wheel well is 50ltrs. which after a few fillings you get around 47ltrs in it. so its not to bad.

My tank sits on a thick bit of foam (inch or so), poss for LPGA regs :-/
So even with my boot floor raised up Ive only got a 50L tank that takes 38L of lpg.
Sit it on a piece of carpet for example and you could get a bigger tank in there.
But if James were to raise his boot floor up as well, not difficult with inch or so polysterene sheets, he could get an even bigger tank in :y
