I just got told the French air traffic people have
some extra holiday booked a strike planned for next week (Monday-Sunday)..
Here's hoping my flight back from Ben Gurion to Heathrow on Friday doesn't go too close to French airspace or I shall not be a happy bunny!

Great.
got flight on Saturday, 25th and 29th . all over Frog airspace.
We ought to retaliate and block their Chunnel ;D ;D

Right, taxi for two people to Spain, returning via Frankfurt for one... say £900 between the three of you :-\

Romanian haulage do it for half that, including ferry. :)

So far I have managed to dodge any issues with the strikes here and that's despite travelling back and fourth with a combo of planes, trains and Eurostar. I will miss the ATC strike next week and hopefully the SNCF strike will be over by the time I head to Paris again the end of next week.

True, but you don't get a seat or some sort of assurance that you'll actually get past Calais ;D
Besides, although that looks expensive, it isn't. Works out at 50ppm for Scarborough to Barcelona(ish) and the same for Frankfurt to Bracknell, nothing for dead mileage/time... total trip mileage being about 2800, so £500 for fuel, and £60 ferry, leaves me about £340 for my time...

You wouldn't get a tip if you dropped me at Barcelona.
If there was a problem I would just buy an Omega out of cars for sale and drive back. Fill it with teabags, bacon and pork pies. Pay for the petrol with expat sales. Free car!

Al, I'll do it if you'll take me all the way ;) (wehey!)
Just a little detour through Tunisia, Libya, Egypt.. what could go wrong? :)
