Post by: R-vin on 26 June 2014, 03:13:28
hi,
does any one know what spark plugs can be used on the Omega A C30NE  engine, it runs only on gasoline,  the owners manual specifies BPR6HS spark plugs, but these are hard to find....

Think 3.0ne is 12v and 3.0se is 24v.

EPC lists (ACDelco) CR42CFS, which superceeds to (Bosch) WR7BC. Vx number is 90297143, opel is 12-14-805.

Also used on some Corsa A's,

I have GM ones here for both engines but the cost of shipping out to you will probably be to expensive

hey guys,

thanks for the info...i`m currently hold up in Brazil.... no Omega B`s here, only Omega A`s (93-98) after which the rebadged LHD commodore was imported fully assembled....  i found the 3.0 6cyl estate Omega A with the C30NE 12v engine / auto tranny at what i thought was a bargain, now i realise why it was being sold, Brazil never had a good parts back up / spare parts.....

93214694 is listed online as a AC Delco substitute, the brasilian manual states BPR6HS as the spark plug,  cross referencing here reveals that this plug does not have a substitute...   i remember that NGK had a naming scheme such as BP5ES for a hot plug and the BP6ES for the colder plug....  does this apply to NGK plugs across the board??????

if the BPR6HS referrs to a colder plug, would BPR5HS be the hotter plug version?

i`ve come across BPR6EY readily available here in brazil..... but can`t find any specs / dimensions online....

what can be consequences of using a hotter plug than the colder one?  will it increase the instance of pre ignition as i frequently hear from cars climbing the  steep hill where i stay at?  what about gas mileage? would i consume more using a hotter plug?

warm regards
