I've seen a tidy 2.6 Elite estate with low miles and I'm wondering if it's possible to transplant my Prins lpg system from my 2.5? :-\
It's all hypothetical at the moment, but I might need an estate in the near future.... ;)

Will swap straight over :y wiring might need tweaking due to plumbing differences, (egr/sai etc) but injectors etc are all the same :y

What about the inlet manifold? Are the 2.5 and 2.6 the same? :-\

The key thing is all the bolt holes are in the same places :y presumably the egr valve and sai gubbins attach to the plenum :-\

The major question is whether you have the software to adjust settings post transplant. Or a friendly Prins installer.

Exactly. It will need a tweak, so make sure you can get the software before you start.

Access to Prins software will be tricky, they are much more fussy about who they let play with their toys than stag. You need a cable too I guess?
But then, how much set up will it need? Is there an element of self set up with that kit?

I guess part of the original query was whether there is enough difference between the 2.5 and 2.6 to need a software tweak... :-\
It'd have to go to an installer anyway for a safety check, so if it didn't work properly I could claim I'd just bought the car or something. ::)

The issue in my mind is that you'll need the software to troubleshoot the installation as well. Without being able to see live data from the LPG ECU, switch over individual cylinders and so on, you'll be guessing if it doesn't work perfectly first time.
2.6 might only be 100cc larger, but the engine management system is totally different, remember. That might well influence the calibration of the LPG system.

So that's the front end kit. The back end is a different story obviously. But then you knew that.

You can use the saloon's cylinder in the boot, if you so wish. Although it is less elegant and more intrusive than a toroidal.
Prins software is very difficult to get. Pirated versions often do not work. Even if you get someone else to set it up, what happens if you have an issue and want to troubleshoot?

It'd be a new tank and a doughnut, to keep the load space. ;)
I think I'd have to have a word with the local Prins dealer first to see if he would be willing to sort the software side of things and check over my installation handiwork. ::)
