Title: dashboard display

my display is difficult to read during the day . moving the rheostat has no effect. With lights on the rheostat does have a dimming effect on the display is this normal

Nope, probably blown some of the 4 bulbs.

MID or GID? Pop it out and check replace the bulbs, worth doing them all as removing dash blows more, including instrument ones too.

MID GID what is this does this unit come out easily

MID or GID refers to type of display and yes it's easy peasy.  :y

GID is half height, with Sat Nav.
