No thanks: for, as with all 'updates/improvements' I prefer to wait a day or two to see if things go pear-shaped for the early-adopter massive. ;)

I've got Firefox on my W2K system, and I think it's awful.  Where possible, that's to say, where I haven't bookmarked the page in FF rather than IE, I use IE6.  Much more reliable.

I've never bothered to download FF for my XP systems, because IE7 seems to do everything better, or perhaps it just does the things I want.  However, it does just disappear sometimes :(

But I won't be downloading anything because, yet again, my broadband connection has reverted to dialup speeds, and I'm not feeling mentally strong enough to argue with the jokers in the Mumbai call centre for the best part of the evening. >:( >:(

Be alright if the website wasn't down.  >:(

Edit: I found firefox easier to use than IE6 which was about when i first started, then surprise surprise IE7 is very similar but i prefer both to Opra which i just couldn't get on with.

I have always been using FireFox for OOF, and just upgraded to v3. Never had any problems whatsoever. For general browsing I still use IE7, which is slow but more compatible with various sites. Oh, and I am occasionally using Opera and Safari, the later is very nice on the Mac but pointless on the PC.

I was in a similar situation. when i got my last new pc (bout 3 years ago) my friend introduced me to firefox. My brother, a corporate IT bunny, only likes microsoft as that's what big companies use so tried to steer me off. but the fact that most viruses hack explorer and firefox was blisteringly quick compared to it swayed me. i also like the new fangled tabbing! i was further put off IE when it changed from version 6 to 7 as the new version caused lots of crashes, incompatibitly issues and general carnage! so i restored back to IE6 and reluctantly use it when a website hasnt bothered to check it works with Firefox. I look forward to trying out version 3!

Safari has its own set of (disputed) flaws, inc the carpet bomb which apple cant be bothered to fix

My IE7 bombs-out occasionally. On all my PCs, and there are quite a few... I find FF more stable, though not entirely flawless. I do miss good old Netscape....

I probably can, but had a bad experience the first time I tried to load it so I don't.  ::)

Weird bit is that it messed up FF2 also, so stuck with IE6 or Safari and Safari is pants.  :-[

Well FF3 was in Portage, so updated!

It borked nss though, well, they changed the whole thing so now pidgin's SSL support is buggered... Not a major issue, as there are other ways of getting on MSN.

Other than that its not bad :)  Although the history bar was annoying so turned it back to its original way by messing with the configs...

Other than that, its much better in regards to memory usage, and also quicker on the initial load after booting up!
