Post by: pauls on 27 July 2014, 20:52:29
I have finally binned my old dell laptop and bought the above. I have been having a play and I found a cabled version of connecting my tablet to my samsung tv so I can download a movie and watch it on the tv. Question is can this be wifi. I have seen it can be done on the kindle.

Depends how old the Tab is, the early ones would give you Composite TV and L and R out from the headphone socket with the right lead (normally a Nokia Type) and or HMDI out through a Play and Go adaptor lead via the micro USB, most newer ones have done away with all that now  and use various apps via WiFi assuming you have a smart TV.

Buying a chomecast MAY do what you want, depending on your video source.
Basically an adaptor what will show some of your pc / tablet content on the tv.
Apps like PLEX or netflix, iplayer etc, will stream to the tv this way.

Nexus 7 for tablet really, Samsungs have really flooded the market, Notes/Pro's/Tab's really not helping Android's fragmentation.

But if budget allows, iPad Mini Retina  :y

Speaking of Chromecast, I shortly should be able to get people trials for NowTV.
