Title: New battery fitted.
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 05 August 2014, 15:37:29
Car starts much better now. :y

I notice that the clamp to secure the battery in the tray merely 'pushes' up against the side of the battery. As a result the battery slides around in the tray.

Can't be right....can it? :-\ :-\

The bottom of the battery has a lip on it, one side slides under an overhang formed in the battery tray, the clamp then clamps down onto the lip on the other side.

It should not move (and is an MOT failure)

But don't overtighten it

Sorted. :y

On both sides of the battery was a barely visible black plastic insert. This was about about 6 inches long and a quarter of an inch deep. Once removed the battery and clamp fitted as GM intended.  :y

The battery was extremely well packaged, Sir Tig. At £52 I also saved £20 on the discounted GM battery.

£20 should buy me a new Sparktune. :y
