Title: Dunlop Sport Maxx RT
Post by: VXL V6 on 12 August 2014, 20:16:05
For those that are running them...Thoughts please.

Last tyres were Continental SC3 XL.

This is for the 3.2, running -30mm Eibach springs, B4 shocks, lemforder wishbones with polyflex front bushes and Meyle HD droplinks. Car currently setup to the standard settings that WIM advise for a LSC car.

Any rubbing issues on the front struts / are the XL variants sufficiently wider with the rim protection to cause this and what speed rating do you go for (presumably Y as that's what seems most common)

I await replies while (http://www.smiley-lol.com/smiley/manger/grignoter/popcornn.gif)

I ran 235/45/17 Y94 on the Silver Bullet...  ...until I removed them as I'd "fully utilised" them.

No issues with fitment/rubbing etc etc.

Subjectively, I don't feel they had the stability/"planted feel" of the previous TT range, but did have better grip. Durability is a tough call - I felt the wear was high, but checking, seems to be same ballpark as TTs (which were less durable than the previous SP9000), although Mrs TB used the car a lot on motorway runs.

I need replacements for both the Silver Bullet - they will be replaced with Sport Maxx RT 235/45/17 Y94.

I also need replacements for TBE. I'm awaiting chrisgixer's comments on durability in the 18" size.
