Whether they vote Yes or No makes very little difference to me, but I fail to understand how the Scots can't see that he is completely and certifiably nuts. The whole thing is about nationalistic fervour over common sense.

When an independent, unarmed, undefended and financially volatile Scotland becomes part of Russia or China, they might just about figure it out...
That might sound like a tongue in cheek comment, but at our peril should Westminster ignore the possibility... what started out as a cheap shot to retain votes has the potential to become a very serious problem very quickly.
Then, and only then will Salmond be seen for what he is by the nationalist blind: The last Puppet King of Scotland :-\
Mark my words...

If Scotland votes yes how long will it be before King Salmond 1st Of Scotland is crowned?

You are right with Russia's current aggressive expansionist policy where Putler has given himself 2 years to create his new empire from Lisbon to Vladivostok, where he has a preference for oil states, and independent Scotland will fit the bill nicely. The only two European countries he is not looking to annex is the UK and France where we have supplies and delivery systems for instant sunshine. But the destabilizing effects of annexing Scotland would have many attractions for him.
He has set a two year time scale as he knows with Oduma as US president that he has a free hand in Europe and it is also the time scale with the current sanctions his $400bn of foreign currency reserves will run out. Putler has a good plan to face down the West and even if there is a nuclear exchange that they will win by having many more survivors, so he can carry on his annexations, but he has a good plan for facing down the US over nuclear weapons anyway, where Obuma will always blink first.

Won't happen. You have mislayed the point of the matter.
It's an independence vote, yes or no, not a pro snp vote.
I bet that, if yes, all the non snp and anti independence MSP's of all hues, colours and political persuasions will still be campaigning on a reduced size political bandwagon same as the SNP.
It will be messy, undoubtedly, but so would a no vote.
You think that Westminster would allow an assumed subservient nation to continue to be a leech on englandshires purse strings?
Thought not... ....

At least a No vote would stop the Russians or Chinese from buying their way in...
